8:30 - 8:45 AM
Parents sign in, health check, then outside structured physical activities..

8:45 - 9:15 AM
Morning Circle
This is a time when all children gather in 2 medium sized groups of up to 12 children. We begin with a prayer, then read and discuss a picture book, engaging in story related activities, such a felt stories for retelling, rhyming, graphing, etc.. This is followed by activities, which promote social/emotional growth such as a class meeting, scenarios, and role modeling use of the problem solving toolbox.

9:15 - 9:25 AM
Writing Activities
Children practice pre-writing or writing their names as well as other structured literacy & writing activities.

9:25 - 9:35
Movement and Music
A time for children to stretch and exercise their body, fostering physical and spacial awareness. Songs and musical instruments fosters understanding of rhythm and pitch.
9:35 - 9:50 AM
Snack is an opportunity for children to receive high quality nutrition and to learn/practice Lifeskills and academic concepts through preparing snack, setting the table, and cleaning up.

9:50 - 11:00 AM
Child Directed Play/Centers
At this time, children will choose activities themselves from a multitude of educational materials and experiences. Throughout the child’s self directed play time, we have centers the children visit each day which includes small group instruction in language arts, math, or science, as well as some one-on-one instruction and observations. Centers provide specific teacher guided experiments, games and activities which last about 5 to 15 minutes per day.

11:00 - 11:10 AM
Clean up
Children practice being responsible for their environment and themselves by utilizing Lifeskills. This also provides an opportunity for academic growth such as recognizing patters and sorting etc. when returning materials to the correct location.

11:10 - 11:25 AM
Physical Education
Children participate in structured physical education activities that develop a healthy active lifestyle through vigorous physical activities. They practice cooperation, balance, throwing & catching, retrieving, and more!

11:25 AM - 12:15 PM
Outdoor Play
As part of the Outdoor Classroom Project, the children participate in the same kind of child directed activities they do indoors as well as gross motor opportunities such as playing on the climbing structure, basketball hoop, trikes, balls, bean bags, balance beam, parachute, etc. Children have opportunities to explore sand and water play, sensory, herb, and vegetable gardens, large scale musical instruments, mud station, magnetic wall with chutes and gears, board games, book tent, carpentry, dramatic playhouse, art and more!

12:15 - 12:45 PM
Children continue to hone their Lifeskills while enjoying a nutritious family style meal.

12:45 - 12:55 PM
This is a quieting time to build listening, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.

1:00 - 2:30 PM
Napping and Resting Time

2:30 - 2:45 PM
Snack/Closing Circle
Children review highlights of their day. Teachers praise children specifically, celebrating the activities/chores they completed and positive behavior they exhibited.

2:45 - 3:30 PM
Outdoor Play
Children have more opportunity to extend their outdoor play as they did in the mid-morning. In addition, the teacher will direct specific activities and organized games for whole and/or small groups for about 15 minutes daily to foster the development of specific physical skills such as throwing, catching, balancing, etc.

3:30 PM
Parents sign out their children with staff and are responsible for them.
